Abstract
Feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD) is a generic term and includes feline idiopathic cystitis (FIC), urolithiasis, urethral plugs and urinary tract infection. FLUTD has a prevalence of 2-5%. It is one of the most common reasons for seeking veterinary care; it accom- panies behavioral problems and is one of the main rea- sons for cat owners to relinquish their cats to animal shelters.
