Abstract
This article analyzes the defection process of certain key political figures-the Catholic Church, the judiciary and the mass media-that had been central allies of the Argentine dictatorial regime (1976-1983), especially in their support of the anti-subversive struggle. The purpose is to show that in this process of defection, they denounce the "problem of the disappeared" and demand answers for the "illegal repression" as a way of undermining the military's power, especially from 1982.
