Abstract

This research proposed a model factors affecting the scientific pro- duction of the researchers of the Catholic University of the North. The model considers factors of type institutional and personal, analyzing the influence on the scientific production measured by the quantity of the publications on indexed journals. This research employs 97 sample re- searchers, including the use of the library services, collaborative work, academic responsibility and other institutional aspects. The main results indicate that the scientific production is being affected by different fac- tors depending on the research discipline. Among the positively affected factors are the numbers of completed project research, participation on group research, time invested in the research, and working years in at university
