Rising agriculture on a convergent green economy platform

Abstract

The article reveals the prospects for the development of a green economy in agriculture in the vector of global climate change, population growth, increasing pressure on natural resources, especially water and land. The article shows the dynamics of the development of agriculture in Austria on the technological platform for the use of environmentally friendly technologies. According to UNEP, a green economy should lead to «improved human well-being and social equality, significantly reducing environmental risks». Agriculture is the industry that exploits natural resources to the greatest extent. Irreversible processes of agricultural landscapes occur during operation. One reason for the disruption of natural ecosystems and the deterioration of the quality of water resources is the increasing intensification of agricultural production. Using scientifically grounded farming systems and integrated land reclamation can reduce the load on the soil and ensure balanced biological productivity of agricultural landscapes. More and more corporations are aware of social responsibility for the environment, high exploitation of land and water resources. The article shows the entrepreneurial activity of Group BAUER GmbH (Austria) in using green SMART technologies: renewable energy sources in the production process, sprinklers with GPS navigation, and the function of irrigation programming based on data got using smart controllers. These technologies make it possible to ensure a crop yield and save money on payment for water resources. International companies such as Group BAUER GmbH, using innovation to increase competitiveness, are helping the global economy move towards a platform of parity between the interests of nature and society. The authors note that the priority of using renewable energy sources does not negate the expediency of using environmentally friendly natural gas as an energy source for the needs of the population and enterprises, which is convincingly proved by the energy crises of recent years.
