Abstract
The quest for an answer to why dancing Odissi matters has led me to explore the sensory experience of Odissi dancers. In looking at the embodied and animated aesthetic experience of Odissi dance, I refer not only to seeing and hearing, but also to touching, kinaesthesia and multisensory awareness. To offer an integrated bodymind and enactive approach for Odissi dance, I take into account different paradigms of sensory experience.
