Abstract

A composite of a local, sustained, drug-release system, Alzamer® bioerodible polyorthoester, and demineralized bone-matrix (DBM) particles implanted in the abdominal muscle of 89 Wistar rats induced cartilage and bone formation at the same rate as DBM when evaluated histologically and by 85Sr uptake. the composite implant was technically easier to use than DBM alone. © 1991 Informa UK Ltd All rights reserved: reproduction in whole or part not permitted.
