Abstract

Background: According to the World Health Organization (WHO), viral diseases continue to emerge and represent a serious problem for public health. Coronaviruses have become the main pathogens of emerging outbreaks of respiratory diseases, because these viruses can cross species barriers and can cause disease in humans. It is already known that in patients with comorbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, the prognosis of the disease is poor. Nevertheless in apparently healthy patients multiple complications associated with the infection have been detected. Methods: Patients diagnosed with COVID-19 by positive real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), treated in-hospital at the ABC Medical Center with / without respiratory symptoms with tomographic and magnetic resonance findings. secondary to infection were included in this study. Results: A review of the extrapulmonary and pulmonary complications was carried out according to the literature reported to date and which is observed in the population of patients admitted to the ABC Medical Center, Campus Observatorio. Conclusions: The main objective was to identify complications and the concordance with the findings observed by imaging regardless of the severity of COVID-19. (English) [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
