Abstract

ZnO nanorods which have been doped with Zn are studied with photoluminescence spectroscopy at low temperature. Detailed photoluminescence studies reveal that the insertion and extraction of Zn in the nanorods creates zinc related intrinsic defects. The optical signature of these defects is located 30meV below the conduction band minimum. © 2012 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
