Abstract
Late-onset schizophrenia and very-late-onset schizophrenia-like psychosis, although uncommon, have been described in the literature. We report a case of paranoid schizophrenia with onset of illness at 88 years, who fits well with the description of late paraphrenia as well. It is suggested that the term late paraphrenia would be more appropriate for such cases with late-onset schizophrenia-like psychosis, in order to remove the ambiguity in the terminology. © 2006 Japanese Psychogeriatric Society.
