Abstract

The antibacterial activity of lincomycin and pristinamycin has been studied and compared with that of erythromycin. In spite of chemical differences, lincomycin has been shown to have an antibacterial activity similar to that of the macrolides, including partial cross-resistance. Pristinamycin has an activity that might have been predicted from its chemical similarity to ostreogrycin. © 1964, British Medical Journal Publishing Group. All rights reserved.
