Abstract
The greater long-nosed armadillo (Dasypus kappleri) is a nocturnal and poorly studied armadillo species of South America. In Colombia it occurs in the Orinoco and Amazonia regions. The natural history of D. kappleri is virtually unknown. The present work describes records of nesting behavior of greater longnosed armadillos in a gallery forest of Puerto Gaitán (Meta, Colombia) and increases the current knowledge about the natural history of this species.
