A nova convergência da ciência e da tecnologia

Abstract

The synergic combination of the scientific and technological fields that presented a rapid growth rate in the last few - decades nanotechnology, biotechnology, information and communication technologies, and cognitive science including neuroscience - is nowadays known as Convergent Technologies. This paper reviews its recent impact on the international scientific community and points out the need of amplifying the discussions to include humanities and social sciences and other important actors of contemporary society.
