Avanços e desdobramentos do marco de referência da educação alimentar e nutricional para políticas públicas no âmbito da universidade e para os aspectos culturais da alimentação

Abstract

This paper aims to discuss some advances and developments promoted by the "Reference Landmark of Food and Nutrition Education for Public Policies", launched in November 2012, for the field of food and nutritioneducation. Two aspects of the document are emphasized: the cultural aspects of food and the university with its classic teaching/research/extension role. This is an important document for public food and nutrition policies in Brazil since it recognizes the importance of food and nutrition education as a strategy for promoting healthy eating within the context of the human right to appropriate food and for ensuring food and nutrition security.
