Abstract

The article reports developments on Counting Online Usage of Networked Electronic Resources (COUNTER) in Great Britain in 2005. Two major developments concerning COUNTER have occurred during 2005. The first is the conduct of a British study of online usage of journals from several publishers by university library users under the direction of Angela Conyers and Pete Dalton of the University of Central England in Birmingham, England. The second major development is the publication of the draft of the Release 1 of the new COUNTER Code of Practice for online books and reference works.
