Abstract

This article studies a specific kind of change in an argumentation system which has been little studied so far: the removal of an argument and its interactions. To support our approach, we present an example that underlines the interest of removing an argument. Then, we present Dung's argumentation formal framework and introduce the expansive, narrowing and monotonic change notions. These notions are used to characterize the impact that a removal can have on an argumentation system and so, they can be useful for making a decision about a removal. © 2012 Lavoisier.
