Abstract

Seven new species of the genera Lapideacassis Black and Scam-panella Forchheimer and Stradner are described from the Paleocene at Site 354 on the Ceará Rise and Site 356 on Sào Paulo Plateau: L. blackii, L. multispinata, L. trispina, S. asymmetrica, S. bispinosa, S. magnifica, and S. wisei. A new terminology is applied to describe the forms of the two genera, and illustrations of all forms of the genera known to date are given.
