Abstract
Pampas Region (Argentina) is one of the most extensive and productive areas worldwide. Thus, the knowledge about its daily precipitation variability is crucial to guide policies aimed at improving the life-quality and the environment. The objective of this study was to analyze trends of daily rainfall events in Pampas during the period 1960-2018. To do so there were studied information of 50 climatic stations from the Servicio Metetorológico Nacional (Argentina) and Instituto Nacional de Tecnología Agropecuaria (Argentina). There were calculated eleven daily events, and there were analyzed their tendency with a Mann-Kendall test. Moreover, the Sen estimator was applied to quantify the changes. Results evidenced the existence of a spatially heterogeneous pattern characterized by the increase of 116 mm /period, a decrease of consecutive dry days and an augmentation of heavy, very heavy and extremely heavy precipitations. These results are essential for stakeholder and decision-makers to design adaptations plans.
