Sarcodon atroviridis (Bankeraceae, Thelephorales): new records for the southern Atlantic Forest, Brazil

Abstract

Sarcodon atroviridis is a hydnoid, stipitate fungi, distinguished within Sarcodon by its dark velvety to velutinous pileus surface and whitish to grayish hymenophore that is not decurrent. This work reports the first records of S. atroviridis for Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, expanding the geographic range of this species in the South Region of Brazil. Color images of the basidiomes, microscopic illustrations, scanning electron microscopy images of the basidiospores, and comments are provided.
