Forças de reprodução. O ecofeminismo socialista e a luta para desfazer o Antropoceno

Abstract

O artigo parte do pressuposto de que a crise ecológica planetária (o chamado Antropoceno) está relacionada com um rearranjo radical das interações entre a sociedade e a biosfera, gerado pela modernidade capitalista/industrial. Esta última considera as “forças de produção” (ciência e tecnologia industrial) como o principal fator de progresso e bem-estar, ao mesmo tempo que considera a reprodução (tanto humana como não-humana) enquanto um instrumento passivo para a produção e a expansão infinita do Produto Interno Bruto. Neste artigo argumenta-se que uma política ecossocialista necessita, ao invés, de reconhecer a relevância das “forças de reprodução” – entendidas enquanto trabalho de subsistência, reprodução, regeneração, restauração e cuidado. Fundamenta-se o argumento numa abordagem que integra materialismo histórico e pensamento ecofeminista, e que oferece ferramentas teóricas para desfazer o Antropoceno e construir uma alternativa ecossocialista.The article assumes that the planetary ecological crisis (the so-called Anthropocene) is related to a radical rearrangement of interactions between society and the biosphere, generated by capitalist/industrial modernity. The latter considers the “productive forces” (industrial science and technology) as the main factor of progress and well-being, while considering reproduction (both human and non-human) as a passive instrument for production towards the unlimited expansion of Gross Domestic Product. The article argues that an ecosocialist politics needs, on the contrary, to recognize the relevance of the “forces of reproduction” – understood as the work of subsistence, reproduction, regeneration, restoration and care. The argument is based on an approach that intersects historical materialism and ecofeminist thinking, offering theoretical tools to undo the Anthropocene and build an ecosocialist alternative.
