Abstract

We present the taxonomic treatment of Siparunaceae for the canga formations of Serra dos Carajás (Pará, Brazil). Only one species was recorded, Siparuna ficoides, taxon ocurring in Venezuela and northern Brazil. This record represents the first of this species for the state of Pará; and probably is the third known individual of the species, being the first material examined different from those described in the original work. A description, comments and illustration of the species are presented.
