Abstract

Grand Sulawesi Housing is one of the new housing estates located in Gowa district, located close to Makassar city and flanked by several campuses including the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Hasanuddin, Polbangtan Gowa. and UTN Alauddin Samata. The survey results show that 92% of these residential communities need various types of services such as telephone, internet and cable TV. However, the providers have not been able to provide these services because there is no fiber optic network that enters this housing In this final project, the power link budget, nse time budget, and bit error rate have been analyzed. The results obtained from this design for the link power budget with the farthest distance of 10.5392 km from the center are obtained: (1) The theoretical calculation results with total attenuation ranged from 23.581 to 23.781 dB and the value of customer ONT received ranged from -19.581 up to -19.781 dBm, (2) The simulation results on the received power measurement ranged from -17.213 to -17.413 dBm, (3) The calculation results obtained ranged from 0.28366 to 0.28838 ns. The bit error rate, (4) The calculation results obtained range from 1.59 x10-27to 5.5 x10-30bits, (5) The simulation results using the BER Analyzer range from 1.8942 x10-21to 3.8102 x10-35bit, (6) The difference in customer ONT reception power and the bit error rate of the simulation results and calculation results is because the software will automatically optimize when the calculation process is executed.
