Abstract

[Image presented] Highlights The presence of nanostructures is demonstrated in a ternary melt of ethanol, 1-heptanol and rapeseed oil. This nanostructuring is coupled with the enhancement of the solubility of rapeseed oil in ethanol.By analogy to hydrotropes, the term “ethanolotrope” is introduced.
