Abstract

Light-matter interaction at the nanometer scale lies at the heart of many physical problems including magnetic resonance and optical spectroscopy. Over the past two decades, we have introduced various theoretical methods in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)1, and we have realized a series of experiments to investigate the interaction of electromagnetic waves or photons with various materials used in fuel cells and lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) for the energy storage materials for the benefit of society. In this perspective article, we present research in the Lithium-ion battery community, which is still intense with the development of novel theories and techniques in magnetic resonance with applications in LIBs and beyond.
