Abstract

Examines the concept of insight in music therapy literature and explores moments of insight as experienced and described by clients and therapists, using a qualitative research method. Eight Ss (4 therapists, 4 clients) were interviewed about their experiences in music therapy. Analysis yielded 15 meaningful moments, including moments of insight (intellectual, physical, spiritual) and of transformation. While sharing their clients' journey, therapists also experienced moments of insight that contributed to their personal growth and understanding. Clients reported that their insight experiences resulted in improved physical and emotional health. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2021 APA, all rights reserved)
