Abstract

As the emergency physician frequently treats patients on long-term lithium therapy, awareness of the numerous side effects of lithium therapy and the pathogenesis of lithium intoxications is needed to deliver effective treatment. This article reviews the management of lithium intoxication due to acute ingestion or subacute toxicity.
