Abstract

In this work we demonstrated that the peripherical thioacetylation of a bithiophene-DPP molecule can greatly influence the solid-state properties triggering the formation of NIR emittingJ-aggregates in both bithiophene-DPP films and nanoparticles. The morphology and the kinetic and thermal stability of the organic nanoparticles were also investigated.
