Abstract
Schools as educational units have an organizational structure that has their respective functions and roles in running the education system. One of the independent school institutions that work well with parents (community) is called the school committee. One of its roles is to create high achieving schools. This study aims to determine the effect of school committees and parents' associations on elementary school achievement. This research is a quantitative research. The population in this study were principals, school committees, teachers and guardians of elementary school students in Karangsambung District, while the research sample consisted of: 26 principals, 26 teachers, 13 school committees, and 13 student guardians. Data collection using questionnaires and data analysis using Pearson product moment correlation analysis techniques and multiple regression analysis. This study concludes: (1) the role of the school committee has a positive and significant influence on elementary school achievement, (2) the parents' association has a positive and significant influence on elementary school achievement, and (3) the role of the school committee and community of people parents together have a positive and significant influence on elementary school achievement. Therefore, to create the maximum role of school committees in achieving school achievement, it is expected that there will be participation from various parties as an effort to integrate roles through school committees.
