Abstract

In Quebec, consumptive and non-consumptive uses of water represent major socio-economical issues. This is why it is imperative to investigate the impacts of climate change (CC) on water resources. From a literature survey, this paper presents the state of water resources and uses in southern Quebec with an emphasis on supply problems. Also, this paper reports on the current state of knowledge related to the sensitivity of the St. Lawrence River water supply system to CC while identifying the needs for information and research in terms of system vulnerabilities and adaptation scenarios. © 2004, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
