Abstract

The way to calculate CO2 emission in a transport section is indicated in Low Carbon City Development Guidance. This study aims to consider an easier way to calculate total trip distance. The accuracy of results calculated in the easier way, on the other hand, should be well enough compared in the original way. The methods are following: 1.calculate total trip distance using small zone and postcode zone data, 2.compare those results and consider how the difference between them appears, 3.divise some calculating methods considering urban characteristic. As a result, 4 numerical expressions for 4 groups are indicated, and, in 35 out of 57 zones, the discrepancy between measured and estimated results is held within 15%.
