Abstract

As a result of having met 4 cases of malignant tumors of the small intestine in the short period of 18 mth, this subject was reviewed. The author discusses the main clinical characteristics of this kind of disorder and analyzes the most interesting diagnostic methods. Reference is made to the frequency statistics and location of tumors reported by different authors. He discusses the case histories, individualizing the anatomicopathological study of each one, as well as the treatment applied. The preoperative diagnostic difficulties in this kind of neoplasias are pointed out and elective surgical treatment, with ample removal of the mesenteric glands together with the tumors, is insisted upon.
