Abstract

This article classifies the language materials used in the teaching/learning of classic and vulgar languages in the Renaissance, in the different European countries, in three types: works of grammatical nature; vocabularies; dialogs. In this context, it appears that the sentences of the Ianua Linguarum (1611) are an usefully new gate to enter the language.
