Abstract

True sternoclavicular joint dislocations are uncommon in athletics. Sternoclavicular joint integrity should be evaluated when a clavicle fracture is suspected, and in younger athletes with a sternoclavicular joint dislocation, diagnostic imaging should be obtained to rule out a physeal fracture. We present a superior sternoclavicular joint dislocation that occurred from a sports-related injury in a 17-year-old high school football player. ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR
