Abstract

Four new species of Oulimnius and a new subspecies of Elmis bosnica are described. A new taxonomic status (synonymy, elevation or reduction in rank) is proposed for seventeen forms. Diagnostic characters, figures of genitalia and geographic data are given for several other species. Cladistic relationships based on synapomorphies are discussed for most genera. Secondary sexual characters are present in males of Stenelmis, Elmis, Esolus and Normandia. Long- and short-winged specimens of Esolus parallelepipedus, Normandia substriata, Riolus syriacus and Dupophilus brevis coexist in the same populations. © 1979 Masson.
