Abstract

This study aimed to propose a porous and lightweight structure using the 3D printing technology. We report on the development of the large scale 3D printer called "ArchiFAB", and the improvement of extruder technology for realizing low-cost and high-speed 3D printing technology. We performed two compression experiments to verify the mechanical properties of periodic minimal curved surface called "Gyroid", that were difficult to realize with the conventional construction method. Moreover, we proposed the construction system based on a concrete block construction method using geometric features of Gyroid.
