Abstract

Four cases of acute inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy following varicella are described. The role of immunosuppression as a contributing factor in triggering an autoimmune disease of the peripheral nervous system following viral infection is discussed. © The Fellowship of Postgraduate Medicine.
