Abstract

This review aims to describe the progress of the probiotic associated with its use in dentistry to treat various infections outside the oral cavity. Infections of the oral cavity ranks sixth most common infections and are often one of the main causes of consultation in dentistry is why it has been treated most bacteria by mechanical procedures that sometimes must be accompanied by an irrational use of antibiotics which have been shown to be causing bacterial resistance and side effects or allergic reactions which is why we have opted promote a healthy environment in order to prevent the development of these infections through the use of multiple strategies, including the use of probiotics in order to achieve and maintain the ecological balance of the biofilm and the potential benefits of these they have already been studied in other areas of health.
