Abstract

A case of a 20 yr old Filipino male with a glioma (Astrocytoma) of the optic nerve is presented. The tumor involves the intraorbital portion of the optic nerve without any extension to the optic disc and retina and to the optic chiasm. The clinical manifestations are unilateral proptosis with a palpable retrobulbar mass, optic atrophy, macular striation and pigmentation and blindness. Follow-up of this patient after 20 months does not show recurrence.
