Abstract

Being a librarian must have two competencies namely professional competence and personal competence. To achieve both, librarians are expected to be able to integrate knowledge, skills, and attitudes. In order to provide maximum service, it is need to pay attention to the competencies of librarians. The purpose of this study is to find out whether librarians are competent in providing services to librarians from the viewpoint of the user as an object/recipient of library services. The method used is descriptive quantitative. The technique of collecting data using a survey in the form of a questionnaire of questions. The number of respondents in this study were 167 users who were students of IAIN Tulungagung. The survey results showed that librarians at the Library Center of IAIN Tulungagung were competent in providing services at 85.1% and the librarians' ability to provide services well at 89.8%.
