EVALUASI AKUNTANSI LINGKUNGAN SEKTOR INDUSTRI DI KABUPATEN BERAU: IMPLIKASI PENINGKATAN POPULASI TERHADAP KEBUTUHAN PENGELOLAAN LIMBAH

Abstract

ABSTRAK Pertumbuhan sektor industri di Kabupaten Berau telah menjadi pendorong utama perkembangan ekonomi, sebagaimana tercermin dalam distribusi Produk Domestik Regional Bruto (PDRB). Namun, peningkatan aktivitas industri sering kali disertai oleh peningkatan produksi limbah dan tantangan lingkungan lainnya. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kontribusi sektor industri terhadap PDRB Kabupaten Berau serta mengkaji bagaimana pertumbuhan populasi memengaruhi kebutuhan pengelolaan limbah. Dengan pendekatan akuntansi lingkungan, penelitian ini memberikan kerangka evaluasi yang integratif untuk mengukur biaya lingkungan dan keberlanjutan sektor industri di wilayah tersebut ABSTRACT The growth of the industrial sector in Berau Regency has become a major driver of economic development, as reflected in the distribution of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). However, increasing industrial activity is often accompanied by increased waste production and other environmental challenges. This article aims to provide the contribution of the industrial sector to the GRDP of Berau Regency and examine how population growth affects the need for waste management. Using an environmental accounting approach, this study provides an integrative evaluation framework to measure the environmental costs and desirability of the industrial sector in the region.
