First record of Cytheridella ilosvayi Daday, 1905 (Ostracoda: Limnocytheridae) in the Ciénaga San Silvestre, Colombia

Abstract

The ostracod species Cytheridella ilosvay Daday, 1905, is reported for the first time for the Magdalena valley. This species has been described in Colombia only in Casanare. A total of 7,000 specimens, all females, were collected from the roots of the macrophyte Eichhornia crassipes in the Ciénaga San Silvestre in Santander during the low water season in March 2018.
