Abstract

Ongoing research on the impact of nurse staffing regulation can yield important information that can guide continued staffing policy efforts. Understanding the impact of such efforts should include evaluating the outcomes of recent legislation in Oregon and Illinois as well as continued examination of staffing ratios in California. Successful efforts will need to transcend traditional boundaries between researchers, policy analysts, advocates, and organizations. © 2007 Sage Publications.
