Abstract
This article reviews the rationale for cardiopulmonary exercise testing and includes a brief review of different methods. The variables measured during exercise testing are discussed along with the ways to determine a normal exercise response in an individual. Finally, the equipment used for cardiopulmonary exercise testing is discussed.
