Abstract

The health problem currently faced by Indonesia is stunting. Indonesia is ranked fifth in Asia. The incidence of stunting in Padang City, West Sumatra is 20.05. Food intake and disease history are direct factors that affect stunting. Meanwhile, the availability and consumption patterns, inadequate parenting, clean water and inadequate sanitation can indirectly trigger stunting This study aims to look at modeling the prevention of direct factors and non-stunting factors in children under five in the city of Padang. The analytical study used a case-control design in 3 urban villages, namely Balai Gadang Village, Aia Pacah Village, and Lubuk Minturun Village. The research sample was 90 cases and 90 controls. Primary data through Anthropometric Measurement, consumption of children, body weight and birth length, breastfeeding and complementary breastfeeding, health status, parenting style, hygiene parenting, and service access. Data analysis is univariate analysis, bivariate analysis multiple regression test. The modeling results show that there are risk factors together with the history of complementary feeding, infectious diseases and energy, and protein consumption and parenting, environmental health for children under five in Padang City. The most influential risk factor is insufficient energy intake. Stunting prevention modeling focuses on meeting energy and protein consumption factors, paying more attention to children under five, fighting infectious diseases, and improving environmental health.
