Abstract
This study aims to evaluate the application of corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs in Indonesia, whether CSR is implemented due to obligations or not, whether driven by profit motives or forms of responsibility to the public. Corporate social responsibility has become a much-studied field by academics in the last decade. Many definitions of CSR from academics discuss who is responsible for implementing and how to measure its success. Indonesia is the first country to implement a mandatory CSR approach for companies. Although some regulations require the implementation of CSR, however, these rules do not include criteria for measuring success. Through surveys, this study uses a questionnaire from two combined instruments, namely from Kanji Chopra Model and Turker's Scale. This combination is expected to produce measurements of CSR that can be generalized to Indonesia, both of these instruments have been implemented in Western and Asian countries. The questionnaire was distributed to two groups of respondents, namely 87 CSR practitioners and 120 respondents as the target public The results of this study are that CSR has been carried out with a focus on helping the public get social welfare and CSR practitioners are mostly PR practitioners.
