Study on implementation of flood early warning system with internet of things in peri-urban settlement of Palembang for sustainability

Abstract

Community role is very important to solve flood by developing flood early warning system using Internet of Things namely combining a SMS gateway and a wi-fi network module. This research is about a study of both modules and community's response to system applied or not in peri-urban settlement of Palembang for sustainability. The conducted methodology is identification of strengths and weaknesses of some variables and community's responses of two system. Survey resulted that community needs flood early warning system with information technology using SMS to prevent flood risk impact and sustainability.
