Abstract
This study explores the disposal of Quranic literature and Islamic informational materials, emphasizing the need for methods that respect religious sanctity and environmental sustainability. A systematic review was conducted using Scopus and Web of Science (2020–2024), guided by the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) framework. Accordingly, 17 relevant studies were identified and analyzed across four themes: sacred texts and practices, religious-social dynamics, religion-environment intersections, and disposal methods. The findings highlight the roles of scholars, community education, and technology. Furthermore, the study underscores the need for a standardized, eco-friendly disposal framework aligned with Islamic principles, offering insights for policymakers, scholars, and religious authorities.
