Abstract

Autoimmune hepatitis is one of the common causes of acute and chronic liver disease in children and adolescents. It has a varied presentation and if detected early, can be treated effectively. Early diagnosis is the most important which may not be easy in many cases. This article outlines the clinical presentations, scores for diagnosis and outlines the treatment aspects of this condition. When medical managementfails, liver transplantation is the only option.
