Abstract

DSSC (Dye-sensitized Solar Cell) has been the subject of much discussion by researchers because of its use and benefits for human life to get electrical energy from renewable sources. Many modifications were made in order to increase its efficiency. One of them is the addition of Ag at various concentrations of Dye LEG4 (D1;D2;D3;D-Ag). Dye LEG4 (triphenylamine) is one of the synthetic dyes synthesized from dyenamo orange (D35) dye and obtained 4 variations of dye, LEG4 is the result of the synthesis which has the highest efficiency. Ag metal was chosen because it has high conductivity properties. The DSSC compound composed of a working electrode (based on FTO glass coated by TiO2 and hybridized using dye LEG4+Ag) and a counter electrode based on FTO glass coated by platinum. DSSC devices arranged in a sandwich is tested for its optical properties by using a UV-VIS spectrophotometer to determine the absorbance curve of dye and to get Gap energy and IV-Meter to determine the efficiency.
