Abstract

A self-catalyzed selective oxidation of sulfides to sulfoxides has been developed. The scope of the protocol is demonstrated in the selective oxidation of 17 different substrates. High yields and chemoselectivity (in general > 90 % ) are achieved in most cases. © 2007 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
