Abstract

Peruvian MYPE's have developed successfully during the last decades, due to better economic solvency, adequate work infrastructure, greater access to more modern technologies and strengthening of human resource. Despite this, this growth is also accompanied by an increase in the number of defects, failures or non-conformities. For this reason, each company obtains the necessary means to try to counteract the effect of variability. The present work was based on the use of the improvement methodology and DMAIC structure (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) as a tool to reduce the incidence of claims in a poultry meat distributor MYPE. The implementation improved the company's communication channels, updating and standardizing processes through the use of technology. It was also possible to train employees, improve infrastructure and equipment, increasing operational quality. Finally, the use of the DMAIC obtained a 39% reduction in claims and an increase in the sigma level for the attention of orders.
